Location
Location shots for part of our video. After walking for a while we decided to use a field, luckily it was at sunset and gave us a beautiful shot for our potential ending, which i believe was worth it. As you can see we had several different days filming in various outdoor locations, this was because of the weather and it going dark pretty early in the day; we had to maximize the light available.
This image depicts a band member playing the guitar however in the final video for example, it was a lot darker due to the sun quickly setting.
This part of the narrative shows the lead traveling to see the girl. We used a bus stop to represent the journey taken.
We also used a house in the narrative, this connotes comfort and familiarity and tells us the couple are very familiar with each other. We then chose to have the fighting in this section to represent something close to your heart being used for something harmful.
We then used a conservatory for the date scene, dressed up with fairy lights and candles to give that date vibe. We had issues with seeing the camera through the conservatory window however but putting the fairy lights between the window and camera we rectified this, the scene now looks much more effective.
For Performance, we used 2 locations; one a gym the other a room with a white screen. We chose quite plain backgrounds to compliment our band name 'Blank Canvas', the gym having wood panels and the screen being plain. This also allows us to have free reign when editing as we aren't tied down with the effects we are able to use. I found using this method extremely easy to repeat on different days if needed, allowing us to film the perfect shots and take our time when filming.
Here, we are focused on the lead singer through close ups and mid shots, they are the Star Image. There is also a notion of looking at the main artist, we are more inclined to focus on her rather than the other people in the band.
